BATON ROUGE - The No. 10 LSU softball team rode Meghan Patterson's right-arm to a masterful four-hit shutout fueled by eight strikeouts as the Tigers completed a perfect weekend with a 1-0 victory over Nicholls State Sunday at Tiger Park.

LSU (10-1) has won 10 of its first 11 games, the program's best start since opening the 2007 campaign with an 11-0 mark.

Patterson stranded a baserunner during every frame, three in scoring position, en route to her second shutout of the season. In the process, the junior right-hander improved to 3-1 on the season.
