Pat Shingleton: "The Prediction, The Results..."
Over these many years of "covering" winter related events the mention of a Winter Storm Warning often needs clarification. As noted yesterday, the definition constitutes expected snow, sleet and freezing rain. In addition it describes "significant amounts" are likely as travel will be hazardous or impossible. Often the expectations negate the definition as folks anticipate a swath of measurable snow. Our predictions clearly identified East and West Baton Rouge Parishes within the boundary of freezing rain, sleet, and ice pellets with expected icing on roadways. In addition our forecasts targeted parishes to the north and northwest of Baton Rouge with snow accumulations. Viewer photos helped validate these predictions on a tricky forecast.
