Pat Shingleton: "Last Storm-This Storm..."
Last week's Winter Weather Advisory prompted preparatory action within its description. Sunday evening's Winter Storm Watch noted favorable conditions for winter weather. This morning, a Winter Storm in the form of icing and snow, will occur. Last week's storm had limited moisture while this system has plenty of "juice." The previous storm recorded freezing rain while today's event will include freezing rain, sleet and snow. Friday's system lasted 18 hours in duration while this event should constitute a length of 12 hours. A "quicker" thaw occurred last time however an expected delayed thaw due to an overnight low of 18 degrees, could snap lines and tree limbs. As you've prepared for tropical storms, check the generators.
