With hopes that you advanced all time-pieces now that Daylight Saving Time has ticked in. Sunrise occurred this morning at 7:22 with sunset tonight at 7:09. Clarification is often needed on what "Z" means on weather images and its relationship to central time. The "Z" stands for Zulu time, formerly Greenwich Mean Time and is the reference timefor the military. To convert Zulu to Central Standard Time-subtract 6 hours. 1200 Zulu minus 6 is 0600 hours or 6 a.m. 0000 Zulu time is the same as 2400 hours. Subtract six and it's 1800 hours or 6:00 PM. To convert Zulu into Central Daylight Time subtract 6 hours. Due to Earth's rotation, a new timescale, called Universal Time Coordinated or Coordinated Universal Time was adopted, replacing GMT.
