Pat Shingleton: "Distribution Day!"
Except for kids that were cold at the bus stop most of us survived the recent episodes. School counselors inform us that some kids wear a Pat's Coats for Kids-coat to school in August. Without home air conditioning, some children don their coat to adjust to the change and shed them once acclimated to the classroom. Today, from 5 AM 'til Noon, we will distribute more than 8,000 new coats to kids in nearly 200 schools. Thanks to our first sponsor, Coldwell-Banker One, PODS of B.R., Neighbor's Federal Credit Union, EMR Recycling, Baton Rouge Clinic, St. Vincent de Paul and Needy of Greater B.R. for their services. No donated amount was too small with contributions more than $90,000. For 25 years we've kept kids warm during the cold winter days.
