Pat Shingleton: "Another Top 10 List"
Weatherwise Magazine identified their Top Ten Weather Events of 2013, based upon rarity, location, monetary impact and duration. The "Moore Oklahoma Tornado" of May 20th slotted the first position, and the "El Reno, OK Twister" was second. Number 3 was the "Boulder Flash Flood" in September with the "Northeast Blizzard" as Number 4. In the 5th position is the "Northern Blizzard" in October with the "High Plains Drought" next. February's "Central U.S. Winter Storm" was number 7, then the "Plains to Great Lakes Winter Storm" in April. The "Plains to Northeast Winter Storm" made the ninth slot. Tenth were the nation's most damaging November outbreaks on record with 74 tornadoes across the Ohio Valley known as the "Midwest Tornado Outbreak."
