BATON ROUGE- A pastor under investigation for questionable business practices says he is broke, leaving town, and is asking for donations to start a new church.

Reginald Stewman has filed bankruptcy papers saying he owes 40 creditors somewhere between $500,000 and $1,000,000.

The WBRZ News 2 Investigative Unit has reported on a business where Stewman collected money from mentally challenged adults, but did not pay for their care.

DHH has also revoked licenses of other health care companies once operated by Stewman.

Among the creditors listed on court documents, are the IRS, the Louisiana State Department of Revenue, BMW financial services and Direct TV.

Stewman is awaiting a sentencing hearing for federal income tax fraud.
