The natural gas leak in the Siegen Lane construction zone between Perkins Road and Highland Road has been clamped off by Entergy crews.

Siegen Lane is now open for traffic in both directions.

Siegen had been shut down between Highland Road and Lazy K as a safety precaution after construction crews struck a four inch natural gas line while working on the widening project.

St. George Fire Department public information officer Eldon Ledoux said there was no danger to the general public and no evacuations were needed.
