Part of building falls in French Quarter street
NEW ORLEANS - Part of a building in the French Quarter near Royal St. and St. Ann drew a crowd of onlookers on Tuesday afternoon as it collapsed into the street below.
WWL-TV reported that debris from the building closed up to two blocks of Royal Street while Quarter denizens gathered to watch the action.
The New Orleans Fire Department was on hand shortly after the collapse to close the roadways and assess the situation.
