One of the oldest and most-used parks in the city of Alexandria is getting a nearly $2 million face-lift.
Frank O. Hunter Park is one of six in development that is part of a master plan improvement project.
Plans call for the city to spend as much as $3.7 million on the parks, as well as an additional $1.3 million in future planning suggestions.
The money is part of the city's Specially Planned Activity Redevelopment Corridors, which is a $96 million infrastructure spending program focused mainly in three historic areas of the city.
