Parish officials announce schedule for reopening waterways
GONZALES - Officials with Ascension, Livingston and St. James parishes announced the schedule for reopening the Blind River and all other inland waterways to recreational boat traffic on Wednesday.
The Blind River will reopen for recreational boat traffic at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez.
Martinez said all inland waterways in the parishes including the Amite River and Diversion Canal will open at noon on Thursday.
