NEW ORLEANS- The parents of a rig worker killed in the Deepwater Horizon explosion nearly a year ago settled their legal claims against companies involved in the Gulf of Mexico.
A federal court filing in New Orleans says the parents of M-I Swaco mud engineer Blair Manuel settled with more than two dozen companies. BP, Transocean, the U.S. government, and M-I Swaco are among those covered by the settlement.
The family's attorney says he can't disclose the financial terms due to a confidentiality agreement.
