Parents accused of starving baby to death
VENTRESS - Sheriff's deputies arrested a Pointe Coupee Parish couple on charges they starved their baby to death.
Deputies arrested Jason Lutz and Ashley Cogar of Ventress Monday in the death of their son, Joseph Lutz. They were charged with second-degree murder and given $500,000 bonds.
The three-month-old was found dead inside their home on Patin Dyke Road last month after investigators said a roommate at the house called 911 to report the baby was dead. Sources told News 2 the child was so underfed it looked like a skeleton.
Three other children at the house were taken by the state and placed in other homes.
WBRZ News 2's Troy Gaulden will have more on the investigation tonight at 5 and 6.
