Palin visits La. to support GOP Senate candidate Maness
CROWN POINT - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin backed up tea party candidate Rob Maness' campaign for U.S. Senate during her visit to Louisiana today.
Palin and Maness, attended an event for the campaign at Restaurant des Familles in Crown Point where she got to taste a variety of alligator-inspired foods. The event acknowleged the Maness TV ad that compares his campaign against two members of Congress to facing down alligators in a Louisiana swamp.
Maness, a retired Air Force colonel and tea party supporter, and Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy are trying to rack up enough votes to keep Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu from a fourth term.
Palin supported Maness, who is considered a long-shot candidate, by saying he was standing up for the average, hardworking American.
