An overturned 18-wheeler on LA 30 is causing a roadblock between Ashland Road and I-10.
Ascension Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness said there is no word on how long it will take to get the vehicle up-right and out of the way. Department head Rick Weber said it would be “quite awhile” and could take several hours. Motorists should use either LA 74, I-10 or River Road as alternate routes.
One person was moderately injured.
OHS&EP said the 18-wheeler contains nitrogen but is currently in stable condition.
Agencies working the incident include Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, Ascension Parish Fire Department and the Ascension Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
