Over 1,000 pounds of drugs seized in traffic stops
BATON ROUGE - Louisiana State Police have seized over 1,000 pounds of drugs in the last few weeks during routine traffic stops, leading to multiple arrests.
Drugs seized included nearly 1,000 pounds of marijuana, 11 pounds of cocaine, plus MDMA and codeine. Also found were thousands of dollars in cash and handguns.
Three different stops on I-10 near La. Highway 415 in West Baton Rouge Parish were responsible for most of the recovered drugs and three arrests.
A stop on 1-10 near Henderson in St. Martin Parish led to the seizure of over 500 pounds of marijuana and another arrest.
