Outage planned for 5,700 Pointe Coupee Electric users
NEW ROADS - Thousands of people in Pointe Coupee Parish will lose electricity for a short time this coming Monday, according to the parish power company.
Workers with the Pointe Coupee Electric Membership Corporation will have to interrupt service to 5,700 customers in order to do regular maintenance at the Waterloo meter point.
Addie Armato with PCEMC said the interruptions would happen around 5:30 a.m. and should only last about five minutes.
She said the customers affected would be around the Waterloo, New Roads, Morganza, Quinton, and Erwinville areas.
Any customers who need to contact Pointe Coupee Electric during the outage should call the company dispatchers at 1-800-738-7232.
