Outage grounds American Airlines flights at BTR
DALLAS - American Airlines flights across the country are grounded because of computer problems.
American asked the Federal Aviation Administration to halt its flights until 4 p.m. CDT because of problems with their online booking system. Some passengers are stuck on planes, while others can't make reservations.
BTR Metro Airport lists one American Airlines flight as delayed, but has several more scheduled for this evening. An airport spokesperson said they are processing things manually, and have nine round trips daily between Baton Rouge and Dallas-Fort Worth with American Airlines.
Passengers are using social media to flood the airline with complaints. On Twitter, American is sending out apologies but not offering customers much information about when the problem will be fixed.
