Ourso defeats Amoroso by 72 votes
BATON ROUGE- Voters in East Baton Rouge Parish elected Darrell Ourso to represent them in the State House of Representatives for District 66.
The former Metro Councilman defeated Current Metro Councilman Buddy Amoroso by 72 votes.
With all 29 precincts reporting, the Secretary of State's Office shows Ourso received 1,958 votes to Amoroso's 1,886 votes.
The District 66 seat was vacated by Hunter Greene who left office to become a judge. Ourso will represent District 66 in the Legislative Session which begins next month.
Ourso told WBRZ by phone tonight, there's a lot of work ahead and he wants to thank each and every voter who went to the polls today.
