MONROE, La.- Authorities say Ouachita Parish High School band director Jon G. Lindsey has been charged with obscenity after being accused of performing a sex act on a 17-year-old boy in a car at a service station.

Police reports reviewed by the News-Star said Lindsey denied performing oral sex on the teen. The arresting officer wrote that his "observation of the situation was different" than Lindsey's account.

Lindsey also was charged with buying cigarettes for the teen. The Associated Press isn't publishing the boy's name because he's a minor.

Ouachita Parish Schools Superintendent Bob Webber said Lindsey would be placed on administrative leave immediately pending an investigation. Webber said Saturday he didn't know if the teen was a current student.

A published phone listing for Lindsey was disconnected Sunday.
