An Opelousas pharmacy technician has been arrested for allegedly stealing $300,000 worth of prescription painkillers from her employer.

Melinda Simon of Carencro is being held in the St. Landry Parish Jail, and faces various charges.

CVS Pharmacy filed a complaint one of its pharmacy technicians was stealing Lortab, Soma and Xanax pills from the store.
