Opelousas City Court is conducting a one-month Traffic Ticket Amnesty Program for people with bench warrants in the court's traffic section.
The amnesty will run February 15 through March 15 and serves as a limited opportunity to resolve
warrants without fear of being placed in jail for being delinquent on the warrant.
The amnesty program only applies to those with traffic-related warrants and does not include such misdemeanors as disturbing the peace and simple battery.
Officials say all fines and costs related to the traffic charges will still apply and must paid in full.
