Opelousas man killed in crash
State police are investigating a single vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 167 south of Ville Platte that
claimed the life of an Opelousas man.
Troopers say a pickup was southbound on Hwy. 167 Wednesday when the vehicle ran off the road and entered a ditch.
The vehicle overturned and ejected both occupants.
Thirty-one-year-old Brandon Richard was pronounced dead at the scene by the Evangeline Parish coroner.
The other occupant, 25-year-old Tradey Henry of Ville Platte, was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
Troopers are still working to identify the driver.
