Oops, we apologize
DUBLIN, IRELAND- An apology was extended to Ireland's president from financial news publisher Forbes for describing him as gay in an online article. Forbes pulled the piece from its website and replaced it with an apology to President Michael D. Higgins. The publisher says it would issue a personal apology in a separate correspondence. The article was by Ireland-based blogger David Monagan who called Higgins an "acknowledged homosexual." Higgins does support gay rights and has a wife and four children. A candidate Higgins defeated for president is open about his homosexuality.
