BATON ROUGE- A Baton Rouge man once accused of murder was found dead on Madison Avenue early Monday morning.
Police found Kedrick Dennis, 30, shot to death in front of his North Baton Rouge home today.
Dennis was accused of killing Kreglan Gaines in 2010, then released after a grand jury failed to indict him within 120 days of his arrest. A grand jury later found there was not enough evidence to indict him for the murder a month later.
Friends and family say he lived for his children.
"He was a good person, he loved his kids, he had five kids and he loved every last one of them, he loved the kids in the neighborhood, his nieces his nephews, he was just a lovable person," said Carla Wallace, who lives nearby.
Friends said it's hard not to think there may be a connection between the two murders.
"I don't know if it was true or not, I just know that he was accused, but once he was released from prison he seemed to be really getting his life back on track," said Kim Wallace, a friend of Dennis.
Police have not released a motive or information about possible suspects.
