One ride repaired, another closed at fair after inspection
LIVINGSTON – A spokesperson for the State Fire Marshal’s office said marshals found issues with two other rides at the Livingston Parish fair.
Brant Thompson said fire marshals found a couple of other issues and that not all of the rides were cleared for operation.
Thompson said the “Zipper” was repaired Thursday morning to fix one issue and is now operational, but the “Ring of Fire” will not be operational for the rest of the fair.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office said that all other issues at the fair were minor.
Three people, including a 10-year-old child, were hurt Tuesday in an accident on one of the rides at the fair.
Investigators believe the child unbuckled herself and stood up during the ride causing her to fall and be pinned under the ride. Two adults were injured after trying to rescue the girl.
