One person shot during carjacking on McClelland Drive
BATON ROUGE – One person was shot during an overnight carjacking near McClelland Drive and Hollywood Street.
According to BRPD, the owner of the car left his keys in his vehicle with the window down when he exited the vehicle and started walking to a different location.
The owner saw someone getting into his car and attempted to stop them, but was shot during the encounter, BRPD says.
The victim suffered injuries that are not life threatening and police are currently looking for the car that was stolen. Police have described it has a 2007 Dodge Charger. Further details have not been released at this time. Sources say there are two suspects police are searching for.
