BATON ROUGE - While waiting at the red light or a stop sign, you often times see people on the side with signs begging for money or donations, but one young man held a sign with a simple plea hoping to get something else.

Jordan Morgan is 22 years old. He works full-time as a painter hoping to get back in school.

"I gave it a try, said Jordan Morgan. "I love it."

However, just two weeks ago it was a different story.

"I didn't have a job for like two weeks and I was going broke," said Morgan.

Jordan found himself desperate for a job after applying and not receiving any phone calls back for work. He said he even created a GoFundMe page with hopes that donations could pay for tuition as he was trying to find work.

"I looked at my gas needle and I needed a job today so I couldn't wait," said Morgan. "I always see people at this corner with signs for help and I thought I needed help too I needed a job."

So, Jordan pulled out a poster and a marker and made a sign that simply said "I need a job." He held his sign near the corner or North Foster and Florida Boulevard.  The response was immediate.

"I was out there for two hours, but I was getting job references people were calling me," said Morgan. "Four people stopped and it was like an instant interview."

One of those people who stopped while driving along North Foster was Gregory Keith.

"I've seen people asking for handouts and donations never looking for a job. Never," said Keith, who runs a painting business. "I seen this young man standing out with a sign and I was very impressed."

After exchanging numbers, Jordan decided to work for Keith in his painting business.

Morgan is struggling to pay tuition so he can finish school at ITT technical college in Baton Rouge where he plans to study Process Technology.
