BATON ROUGE - State Police reopened one lane of I-10 West around 6:30 p.m., nearly 24 hours after a deadly 18-wheeler crash near Henderson.

Barrels and caution signs will be placed to warn drivers on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge of the one-lane area, and troopers warned drivers to expect congestion.

The wreck last night killed one person after an 18-wheeler going east crossed the median and struck another truck going west. The collision caused a large fire, and one of the trucks spilled its load of drilling mud which turned the road very slick.

Traffic had been detoured off at La. 415 at Lobdell onto La. 190. That detour is still a recommended route for drivers that don't want to deal with potential congestion on I-10.
