BATON ROUGE - Authorities re-opened parts of I-10 East in Baton Rouge as work continues to remove an overturned 18-wheeler.
Sgt. Don Kelly with Baton Rouge Police said lanes could be open and closed temporarily to finish cleanup operations. He ealier advised drivers to avoid I-10 East until cleanup was completely finished, which could take several hours.
The big rig flipped on its side near Washington Street earlier this morning. Police shut down the eastbound lanes of the interstate while crews were brought in to upright it.
The queue from this incident has reached La-415 on I-10 East and Capitol Access on I-110 South, according to the Department of Transportation and Development.
