One hurt, dozens displaced by apartment complex fire
BATON ROUGE - The American Red Cross is assisting at least 25 residents, including children in eight homes impacted by a late night apartment fire.
Fire broke out at Broadmoor Plantation off Florida Blvd. just after 9 p.m. Thursday.
Emergency crews transported a 48-year-old man to the hospital with burns to the face.
Fire investigators say the fire started in a down stairs apartment kitchen that spread to an upstairs unit.
Crews were able to keep the flames from spreading, but other units suffered water or smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
