One dead in motorcycle accident
BATON ROUGE - A motorcycle accident killed a man in Baton Rouge Sunday afternoon.
State police says Thomas W. Duke, 72, of Sunshine, La. lost control of the motorcycle and was killed in the accident just after 1pm.
Officials say Duke lost control and struck a curb, and was subsequently ejected from his bike.
It happened on Siegen Lane between I-10 and Perkins road. Siegen southbound was closed for about an hour.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. Police say Duke was wearing a helmet, but one that is not approved by the department of transportation.
