BATON ROUGE - Authorities say a man was possibly chased down and then killed in a shooting last night in the Gardere area of East Baton Rouge Parish.

Larry D. Williams, 19, was found dead by deputies called out to 1656 Jade Ave. around 10:05 p.m. Monday, according to Major Lawrence McLeary with the EBR Parish Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Sid Gautreaux said there was a crowd of 70 to 80 people around when he arrived, and witnesses told deputies a group of men were chasing Williams before the shooting happened.

"Someone saw something, I'm asking that person to come forward," Gautreaux said Tuesday morning.

Anyone with information about this shooting should call the sheriff's office at 389-5000.
