ST. GABRIEL - One man is dead after a head-on crash on LA 30 shortly before 4:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Louisiana State Police Tpr. Nick Manale.

Manale says 26-year-old Joshua Babin of Baton Rouge was traveling south on LA 30 near LA 3115 in a 2001 Dodge Ram. The truck drifted across the centerline into oncoming traffic and hit a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider head-on.

Babin was wearing a seatbelt during the crash but died as a result of the crash, according to Manale.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, 45-year-old Brent Roussel of Lutcher, was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained moderate injuries. Roussel was transported to a local hospital.
