WATSON – Deputies in Livingston Parish say a woman is dead after drowning in the Amite River near the Watson area Sunday afternoon.

Livingston Parish Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Upper Amite River area for a possible drowning just before 3 p.m. Sunday. Investigators say initial reports indicate that the woman was tubing at the time of the incident.

Deputies later identified the woman as 32-year-old Kimberly Gillien of Franklin, La.  No foul play is suspected.

Earlier reports from emergency responders said investigators were working near Ednie Lane near Central in East Baton Rouge Parish.

LPSO has not released any more information at this time but said the investigation is ongoing.
