BATON ROUGE - Police arrested one of two men today wanted in connection with a deadly beating.

Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said the police Special Response Team arrested Shedrick L. Lobrano, 51, after locating him at his residence.

Police had warrants for Lobrano and his son, 24-year-old Shedrick Demond Lobrano, who is still at large.

Investigators said on Jan. 5 the elder Lobrano beat Lionell Trumble, 60, with a board when Trimble intervened in a fight between his sister and Lobrano, who was her ex-boyfriend. Trumble went to the hospital, and died on March 12 from his injuries.

Police arrested Lobrano and his son after the fight and charged them with attempted murder. They posted bond and were released, but had their charges recently upgrade to second degree murder and principal to second degree murder.
