One arrested following deadly shooting on Clearview Avenue last weekend
BATON ROUGE- Authorities have made an arrest following a shooting that left one man dead and another in critical condition.
Jermey Kendell Brown, 34, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, and felon in possession of a firearm.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, detectives responded to a shooting around 9:35 p.m. in the 10000 block of Clearview Avenue on Sunday, Feb. 18.
Officials say two people were shot; one victim was pronounced dead on the scene and the second was transported for treatment.
East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office has identified the deceased victim as Tr'markus Taylor.
The surviving victim told detectives that he was able to disarm the shooter during the incident and stashed narcotics and the firearm before he drove to the hospital. The victim also told detectives that he and Taylor were in Taylor's vehicle while on their way to meet Brown.
Deputies say the two men pulled up next to a van when Brown entered Taylor's car and allegedly shot both men.
