Even though the BP well in the Gulf of Mexico is shut in, there's still lots of oil being recovered in Plaquemines Parish.
In the past week, parish officials say about 13,000 gallons of an oily water mix have been recovered in Bay Jimmy, a spot that has been hit hard by the oil spill. In the week before that, officials said about 31,905 gallons had been collected.
Parish President Billy Nungesser says the oil is not slowing down - and that oil waste and tar balls are being collected along the coast.
