The man in charge of the Gulf oil spill response is in Plaquemines Parish today
Coast Guard Adm. Paul Zukunft will tour Gulf coast marshes to look for signs of oil.
He will also visit with participates in the vessels of opportunity program which puts commercial fishermen to work helping with the oil cleanup.
Zukunft says he wants to reassure Gulf coast residents that the cleanup effort is still going strong even though the oil stopped flowing in July.
The well at the Deepwater Horizon site was declared dead over the weekend.
