A senate panel is looking closer at what caused the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon nearly a month ago in the Gulf of Mexico and led to the millions of gallons of crude oil spilling into the Gulf.
The Senate Energy and natural Resources Committee Chairman says he hopes the probe will determine the multiple failures that led to the blowout and leak.
The lead witness in the hearing today was Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.
