Chevron says a hole the size of a quarter, caused 33,000 gallons of oil to leak into a creek in Salt Lake City.

Refinery officials say the leak was caused by an electrical arc that traveled through a metal fence post.

The spill has coated about 300 birds at area creeks and ponds.
