CAMERON, La. - The owner and chief executive officer of T & F Oil Co., of Mandeville, has pleaded guilty in a Cameron Parish court to illegally discharging pollutants into state waters.

Lobdell Percy Brown III, his company and his brother, T & F field technician Carr Brown were indicted in October 2011 on charges stemming from illegal discharges of oil and chlorides into state waters.

Brown was placed on probation Monday, and ordered to pay $11,080 to the state Department of Environmental Quality Environmental Trust fund to cover the cost of the investigation. Half of the money may be paid by Carr Brown, who faces similar charges.

Lobdell Brown must also pay a criminal fine and restitution to be determined in a companion civil enforcement case that is still pending.
