Ohio State band director fired
COLUMBUS, OHIO- The leader of what's known as the "Best Damned Band in the Land" was fired by Ohio State University for knowing about but ignoring "serious cultural Issues", including sexual harassment.
Jonathan Waters took over the band two years ago after serving in lesser capacities for ten years.
The university president says a two month investigation uncovered a "sexualized" culture within the band's ranks and Waters knew but failed to stop it.
The band is scheduled to perform this weekend with the Columbus Symphony to begin its new season.
The school says performances will go on as it looks for a new band director.
