An Ohio man accused of sending sexually explicit material to a Louisiana State Police investigator posing as a 14-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to trying to entice a minor into engaging in sexual activity.

Federal prosecutors said 47-year-old Larry Landt, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, began trading messages with the investigator in an Internet chat room in July 2009.

Landt faces a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison and a $250,000 fine following his guilty plea Monday.

A date for his sentencing hearing wasn't immediately set.
