Officials reviewing video of high school football brawl
BATON ROUGE - There could be more fallout after a brawl ended the football game between Baker and Parkview last Friday night.
Cell phone video provided to News 2 shows a tackle near Parkview's bench started the brawl, and ultimately cost both teams the game. Parkview was up 22 to nothing at the time.
Now the schools involved have turned over video from the fight to the state High School Athletics Association. Director Kenny Henderson turned down News 2's request for an on-camera interview, but said he's not sure if any disciplinary hearings will be held because the schools involved were already talking together to reach a resolution.
Meanwhile, parents with children at the schools said more discipline is needed on the field before the situation escalates.
"If they don't stop it now, someone's child is probably going to get killed," said one parent.
Police said after viewing video of the fight they determined criminal charges were not likely.
Kenny Henderson, director of LHSAA, says there will be a sportsmanship hearing concerning the fight October 25th at the LHSAA offices.
