GULFPORT, MISSISSIPPI - Hancock County deputies tell our sister station in New Orleans that the remains found on Mississippi beaches are those of 22-year-old Jaren Lockhart of New Orleans.
A spokesman for the Hancock County Sheriff's Office says additional remains washed ashore Saturday morning in Pass Christian. Authorities found an upper leg portion nearby, and a head just to the west in Long Beach.
Authorities say that a fisherman found part of a lower leg and then found an upper leg portion nearby, and a head just to the west in Long Beach.
Lockhart went missing Tuesday and was last seen leaving the Mid-City area on Tulane Avenue. Police believe Lockhart was taking a cab to Bourbon Street.
The torso had a stab wound to the chest and Hancock County officials have said they're treating the case as a homicide.
