Officials announce Ascension debris removal schedule for rest of year

ASCENSION – Ascension Parish officials have released a schedule for debris removal for the remainder of the year.

The closing of the Lamar Dixon Center debris drop off location has been closed and debris will no longer be accepted there.

On Nov. 23 all household waste and white goods: refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, heat pumps, ovens, ranges, washing machines, clothes dryers and water heaters. After Nov. 23, only construction and demolition debris will be picked up.

The schedule for debris pick up is as follows:

Nov. 23- Dec. 4: No pick up in observance of Thanksgiving Holiday

Dec. 5- Dec. 22: Construction and demolition debris removal operations resume

Dec. 22 – Jan. 8: No pick up in observance of Christmas Holiday

Jan. 9 – Jan. 20: Final pass parish-wide

To be included in the Private Property Debris Removal program, residents should call Ascension Parish Government at 225- 450-5559 or contact Tetra Tech, the consultant managing the PPDR program for the parish at 225-348-2254.


Residents may also go to the Ascension Parish Government Complex, Room 105, located at 615 East Worthey Rd. in Gonzales between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday through Thursday, and 8am to 11am on Friday, to complete an application
