Officers fired, booked into jail Friday
BATON ROUGE - Two police officers indicted for malfeasance related to a sex incident at a Baton Rouge park have been fired and booked into the parish jail, BRPD said Friday.
Until Friday morning, the officers had been on administrative leave. The pair, and a third officer no longer on the force, faced an indictment earlier this week.
Emerson Jackson, Travis Wheeler, and Isaac Bolden were indicted Wednesday related to the incident back in February. Jackson, 32, and Wheeler, 27, were fired Friday morning. Bolden had previously resigned from the force.
District Attorney Hillar Moore said a woman claimed that while in uniform and on duty, the officers coerced her into performing oral sex on Bolden while the other two stood by and watched.
A BRPD spokesperson said Jackson and Wheeler surrendered to authorities and were booked on malfeasance charges, and that Bolden is expected turn himself in sometime next week.
