Officer fired from force after fake ticket arrests
BATON ROUGE- A police officer has been fired after two arrests for writing fake tickets.
Derek Burns has been accused of injuring public records, forgery and malfeasance in office. The two arrests stem from four false summonses.
According to court documents, Burns forged the victims' signatures on the summonses.
Victims told investigators they had never come into contact with Burns and never signed the misdemeanor summonses, the warrant said.
