BATON ROUGE- Billy Nungesser, a candidate for the lieutenant governor's office, is not appearing at two area candidates' forums.

He was scheduled to appear with incumbent Jay Dardenne at a Pachyderms of Greater Baton Rouge event tonight, but canceled that appearance as well as one with the Baton Rouge Press Club.

Dardenne still plans on speaking at both events.

Nungesser's campaign cites scheduling conflicts with events both days. Dardenne says Nungesser is dodging the issues by backing out of the forums.
